If you enjoy exploring hidden gems and secret destinations, this tour is for you. Kosovo and North Macedonia remain among Europe’s least explored destinations, while Albania is just gaining attention. Expect a relaxed pace with a touch of rustic charm. The fitness level is moderate, with walks through city centers, markets, and some uphill fortresses—comfortable shoes and a love for exploring on foot are a must.
Yes — these countries are safe to travel in. Locals are known for their hospitality and warmth toward visitors. In reality, your biggest concern may be getting around the slippery cobbles of old towns in case it rains. Like anywhere, it’s wise to take normal precautions, but safety is not a concern in everyday life here.
Because Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia are some of Europe’s least explored nations. And that’s exactly what makes them so compelling. These are countries with deep history, layered cultures, and a lot to show — but without the crowds. One of the most rewarding parts of traveling here is the genuine warmth of the people. Locals are welcoming and curious, not worn out by mass tourism, which makes the experience feel personal and real.
If you’re drawn to history and heritage, Kosovo might surprise you. It’s dotted with UNESCO-protected Orthodox monasteries, like Visoki Dečani and Gračanica, which hold some of the most important medieval art in the Balkans. And then there’s Prizren—once the capital of medieval Serbia—where churches, mosques, and old Ottoman houses sit side by side. It’s a place where history is very much alive.
Visa requirements for Kosovo, Albania, and North Macedonia depend on your nationality. Citizens from many countries, including those from the European Union, the United States, Canada, and Australia, generally do not need a visa for short tourist stays (typically up to 90 days within a 180-day period). While these are the general guidelines, it is essential to confirm the visa requirements with your local authorities, as rules may change. Travellers from certain countries may need to apply for an e-Visa or a traditional visa before arrival.
