Depart from central Sofia in the early morning and journey southeast to the Thracian Lowlands, a region known for its fragrant lavender fields and millennia-old winemaking traditions.
Your destination is the region of Chirpan, where the annual Lavender Festival brings the region to life with colour, scent, and celebration. Along the way, stop in the nearby village Sredno Gradishte, one of the main festival spots, to explore local crafts, music, and traditions.
Wander through blooming lavender fields, soak in the views, and take your time capturing the beauty on camera — or simply breathe in the calming fragrance.
